Scot Crain has more than 38 years of franchise and consulting experience and spent over 27 years growing and supporting the Auntie Anne’s chain of fresh-baked, hand-rolled soft pretzel franchises. During his tenure, the Auntie Anne’s system grew from about 100 locations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the US to a 1,900-unit international franchisor operating out of 48 states and 25 foreign countries. He has served in several executive leadership roles for the company, including National Director of Store Support, Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Communications, Chief Customer Officer, and Vice President of Franchise Relations, providing him with extensive knowledge of restaurant and franchise operations for his work as a franchise business consultant.
Soon after joining the company, Mr. Crain developed the Auntie Anne’s franchise advisory council system and for the next quarter-century worked closely with a peer-elected franchisee leadership team to foster ongoing collaboration between the corporate headquarters and its 400+ franchisees to achieve mutual goals.
Prior to Auntie Anne’s, Mr. Crain spent seven years in franchise consulting, assisting both emerging and existing franchisors with strategic planning and franchise operations consulting. During this time, he oversaw and provided franchise consulting services to more than 80 firms covering a wide range of product and service categories, including Jimmy John’s, Saladworks, Corky’s BBQ, Sterling Optical, La Pizza Loca, Green Mountain Coffee, Truckstops of America, and Apricot Lane Boutique.
